Riley Taylor's debut fantasy novel Eyes of Time follows Zuri Echinatoha and her group of friends as they begin to train together, preparing to enter the military of Hikari City, a member of the worldwide organisation The Alliance which fights against the immortal Hideki who's attempting to take over the world. They attempt to live their lives as young teenagers all the while uncovering hidden organisations, and city-wide corruption. The adults around them are doing their best, but Hideki knows to hide things from them, but he doesn't yet know just how powerful and intelligent the teenagers around them are. It isn't long until he begins to realise that something about them is different to all the others. And he begins to crave their powers, targeting them. All Zuri wants to do is protect her loved ones, she's spent her entire lifetime protecting her younger brother, and so now, she must wield her powers, and become as strong as possible in order to protect those around her. But as things start to get worse, it gets harder and harder to keep them safe.
